Comparing the current month’s payroll against previous months helps you identify changes, discrepancies, or trends in employee compensation. The Variance Report provides a clear side-by-side comparison, making payroll management more accurate and transparent.
You can generate the report in two ways—while payroll is still in draft or after payroll has been approved.
Comparing Current Draft Payroll with a Previous Approved Payroll
1. Go to Manage Company > Payroll.
2. In the Monthly / Fortnightly Payroll section, click Manage for the current draft payroll.

3. From the dropdown list, choose the previous month’s approved payroll you want to compare against. Click Variance Report to generate and view the results.

Comparing Two Approved Payrolls
1. Go to Manage Company > Payroll.
2. Scroll down to find Variance Report, then click to expand the section.
3. Select the first payroll and second payroll you want to compare. Click Generate Excel to download and review the report.
Note: The Variance Report feature is currently available only for payrolls in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Thailand.
