HReasily Automated Childcare Leave – FAQ Guide

Modified on Tue, 19 Aug at 1:32 PM

This guide answers the most common questions about the Automated Childcare Leave feature in HReasily.

Note: This feature is currently available only for Singapore users.

What is the Automated Leave feature?

The Automated Leave feature helps you manage employee time-off more easily by:

  • Automatically assigning leave types and entitlements to employees.

  • Following MOM requirements and other eligibility criteria.

This removes the hassle of manually tracking leave for a growing workforce.

What leave types are available now?

At this stage, the Automated Leave feature supports:

  • Childcare Leave

  • Extended Childcare Leave

Why don't I see the Automated Leave feature in my account?

The feature is still in Beta. If you don’t see it:

1. Contact our Support Team at support@hreasilygroup.com or via Live Chat.

2. Once enabled, new leave types will be marked with a black info icon beside the leave name.

Why do I see duplicate leave types with the same name?

If you enable Automated Leave mid-year, you may see both:

  • Your existing manual leave type (e.g., Childcare leave).

  • The new automated leave type (e.g., Childcare Leave).

This is intentional—we don’t overwrite your existing setup.

Things to consider before enabling mid-year

If you enable this feature in the middle of the year. Past leave taken won’t be moved to the new automated type. To reflect accurate balances, you may need to:

  • Re-enter past leave taken (backdated applications).

  • Adjust employee entitlements manually.

If you’d rather avoid adjustments, you can continue with your current setup this year and switch to Automated Leave at the start of the next year.

Childcare Leave – How does it work?

Default settings are based on MOM rules (cannot be edited or deleted).

The system will auto-assign childcare leave based on:

  • Employee’s Next of Kin info (child age & nationality).

  • Employee’s length of service (≥ 3 months).

Scenarios:

Scenario

Actions

  • Admin add new employees, e.g: employee A

  • No data at Next of Kin Info

  • Employee A hasn’t worked for more than 3 months from join date

Not assigned

  • Employee A enter their child data in Next of Kin Info

  • Has youngest child aged less than 7 y.o with any nationality

  • Employee A hasn’t worked for more than 3 months from join date

0 days assigned

  • Employee A enter their child data in Next of Kin Info

  • Has youngest child aged less than 7 y.o with SG nationality

  • Employee A has worked for minimum of 3 months from join date

6 days assigned

  • Employee A enter their child data in Next of Kin Info

  • Has youngest child aged less than 7 y.o with nationality other than SG

  • Employee A has worked for minimum of 3 months from join date

2 days assigned

Once the child age is not less than 7 years old anymore, we will then assign them with Extended Childcare Leave type.

Extended Childcare Leave – How does it work?

This leave type follows the same setup as Childcare Leave. The default settings are view-only and cannot be edited or deleted.

Scenarios:

Scenario

Actions

  • Now the youngest child aged between 7-12 y.o with SG nationality

  • Employee A has worked for minimum of 3 months from join date

2 days assigned

  • Now the youngest child aged between 7-12 y.o with nationality other than SG

  • Employee A has worked for minimum of 3 months from join date

Not assigned

  • Now the youngest child aged more than 12 y.o with SG nationality

  • Employee A has worked for minimum of 3 months from join date

No childcare leave assigned

What if employees already used some entitlements?

If employees already used leave before enabling Automated Leave, update their entitlements manually in Staff Profile > Leave Info. This ensures their balance reflects leave already taken.

You’ll also need to do this for:

  • New hires joining mid-year (prorated leave).

  • Employees leaving mid-year.

How do I check if Automated Leave is assigned?

1. Ensure child data (birthdate & nationality) is added under Staff Basic Info > Next of Kin.

2. Ensure the employee has worked ≥ 3 months.

3. Go to Staff Leave Info > Leave Types.

4. You’ll see the automated leave assigned.

Tip: If it doesn’t appear, re-save the Next of Kin info.

I enabled Automated Leave but don't want it anymore. What should I do?

If you’d prefer to use Automated Leave only from next year:

  • Contact our Support Team to disable it.

  • Automated leave types cannot be deleted directly from your account.
