What’s the difference between a Recommending Officer and an Approving Officer?

Created by Audrey Robert, Modified on Wed, 13 Aug at 9:50 AM by Audrey Robert

These roles represent a two-step approval process:

  • Recommending Officer: The first level of approval.

  • Approving Officer: The final level of approval.

When a leave or claim request is submitted, it will first go to the recommending officer for review before moving on to the approving officer.

Note: For claims, if multi-level claim approval is enabled, this sequence does not apply. In that case, both the recommending officer and approving officer can approve claims in any order. For more information, see our guide on multiple-level claim approval.
